Review of Bad Santa (2003) by Ed Fucking H — 13 May 2011
Comedies rarely make me laugh so I rarely watch them. The opposite was the case with this dark humoured, anti christmas film from Terry Zwigoff. Billy Bob Thorton was great as the grumpy and drunken Santa Claus.
The humour was really subtle, and didn't rely on jokes so much as body language and gratuitous cursing. With the wrong lead this film probably wouldn't have worked. Fortunantly Thornton was perfectly cast in this role.
Good times for sure.
