Abel ferrara 's bad lieutenant stands out as one of the grittiest,artsy, kick in the balls films to come out of new york since taxi driver.keitel acting in this film is outstanding. I gained so much respect for him after I seen him in this. better then reserviour dogs which came out around the same time.
