Review of Bad Lieutenant (1992) by Dan R — 23 Oct 2008
I had the ahem "joy" or lack theirof of seeing the NC-17 version of this the other day. A movie that basically plotless. Basically this is what happens: He takes the kids to school, then snorts a bunch of coke, then he goes to a house where a lady is naked and being dry humped on the bed by another lady and she is gagging the other woman.
He then chases the dragon. Then he tries to steal coke from a crime scene. Then a nun is brutally raped on the altar of a chruch (this is where its the NC-17). Then he smokes some crack. Then shoots some heroin.
Then he drinks vodka endlessly while driving,while in a church. Then we see him standing completely nude while he's in drug enduced haze. Then he chases the dragon again. Then at the end (which couldn't have come soon enough) he gets shot and killed in his car.
A movie that could be considered real depressing but since the main char is a 100% junkie-cop-loser you feel nothing for him when he dies.
