Review of Bad Lieutenant (1992) by Adrian G — 11 Feb 2009
Sort of a throwback to 70s style of dark, gritty urban hell centered on a flawed main character who seeks escape. Keitel is intense, bringing a realism to his character that would feel over-the-top if done nearly any other way.
This isn't a film for everyone, and I can see most Christians I know being turned off by the first few minutes alone, but there is a great message about pain, forgiveness and redemption here.
