Review of Bad Lieutenant (1992) by Kenneth B — 23 Feb 2012

There is plenty of sex, violence and drugs on display here but not much in the way of a coherent narrative. Nor does it have the kind of Lynchian surrealism that can sometimes compensate for the lack of plot, although it seems to be trying to this end.

I like Harvey Keitel but he is rubbish here. I've never heard such forced wails of anguish and although he does the bravado bits okay the rest of the performance is, much like the film, all over the place.
