Review of Bad Lieutenant (1992) by Ld P — 01 Aug 2009
Bad Lieutenant (1992) Harvey Keitel Stars. This film gets rave reviews but I did not care for it. Granted it is brutally frank and realistic. Keitel plays the role of his life here. There are lots of bad Cops everywhere even in 2009 but few as bad as this.
Some say there is redemption at the end of the movie. the redemption at the end of the movie did not do much for me. Pulp fiction done well. I have not seen Ferrara's other work. I have been sober from alcohol for 14 years.
I never experimented with hard drugs. I stopped smoking pot in 1985. Taking such as hard realistic look at a drug addict thief cop did not give me AMY emotional satisfaction or enjoyment from this film.
2 or 3 stars not my kind of movie and certainly not a family movie or for kids.
