Review of Bad Lieutenant (1992) by Rex S — 07 Jan 2010
After seeing the remake, I decided to rent this one and wasn't disappointed. Harvey Keitel obviously makes this and his performance is probably better than Nic Cage's in the New Orleans one. Whereas Cage was just a bad man in a nameless city (just happened to be NO), Keitel is New York to the core and doesn't have to be over-the-top to sell it.
Still a little uneven for me but very well done overall, especially with the religious aspect.
