Review of Bad Education (2004) by Clayton W — 07 Jul 2008
Bad Education is a provocative, complex masterpiece that I know I will watch many more times before the various threads come completely together. Almodovar has done such an amazing job of subtly blurring the line between reality and fiction and layering themes and ideas throughout the movie, making this one of the most intensely interesting movies I have ever seen.
The reason I blind bought this was for Gael Garcia Bernal (one of my personal favorite actors), and I'm glad I did. His performance was wonderful and he handled the controversial subject matter extremely well.
This isn't a movie for homophobes or the close-minded, but if you're willing to really give it a chance, chances are you will be glad you did.
