Review of Bad Education (2004) by Kamal K — 25 May 2012
I don't think Almodovar excelled on this film. The story was complex and the aspect of child molestation was brushed over in favor of presenting the sordid aspects of an abusive homosexual relationship.
The latter could have been dealt with more subtly but Almodovar seems to want to pound this into the viewerâ(TM)s senses. In the end the viewer is left wondering as to the relationship between the two aspects of the story and is distracted by the story within a story.
