Review of Bad Day at Black Rock (1955) by John S — 04 Sep 2012
Bad Day at Black Rock is an interesting joint. It has a brilliant sense and aura of suspense and mystery that is just tangible. The big reveal is a bit obvious and thus a bit disappointing but the film moves along adequately.
What is most interesting about the film is the characterization. All the characters are so mysteriously drawn that it keeps you glued to the screen to learn more. However, some of the characters are so frustrating that I actually wanted some of them to die.
The result is very distracting.
