Review of Bad Country (2014) by Marc W — 15 Aug 2014
Willem Defoe is slumming it in this violent tale about a cop trying to bring down a Louisiana Mafia of Nazi sympathisers with the help of a one time hitman for them who has now turned informant. There's some cracking acting in this turkey, especially by Amy Smart as Matt Dillon's wife, who, when asking him how long he will be in jail he tells her 'life, without parole', to which she replies, 'life? that's a really long time'.
Also good is Willem Defoe's killer moustache, he is rocking it. Peppered with a couple of old school actors like Bill fucking Duke and Tom Berenger it doesn't lift the standards but it's not the worst film that is for sure.
