A sturdy, strong proper old school action film. Jerry Bruckheimer - he the maaan. This has the vibe of The Rock, bad boys 1, and enemy of the state running thru its veins. Rock is great and hearing Hopkins say "get in the car bitch" is funny stuff.
The only real downsides are a lull in action in the middle but the comedy vibe makes up for that, and it would have benefitted from being more violent and sweary instead of being pg-13 style. Still this is classily done and a bit of a forgotten gem.
It's funny, has some good action and a classicly well done buddy duo. If like me you got a sweet tooth for old school action flicks then this will do just the trick for yo ass. A lot of fun.
