Review of Bad Boy Bubby (1993) by Iain B — 22 Oct 2010
An Australian cult classic. Beautiful and disturbing at the same time. Bubby is 38 years old and has been held inside his apartment all his life, by his religious, abusive and mentally ill mother. As he discovers the meaning of death, he kills his mother and ventures out into the world. A journey through the human dualism.
Good >< bad.
Right >< wrong.
Superego >< id.
Science >< religion.
But in the end, love concurs all. Beautiful and breath taking. But not for the faint hearted and not for religiouse people.
