Review of Bad Boy Bubby (1993) by Rob F — 24 May 2011

What is it that makes me like this movie so much? If I told the wrong people, they might want to lock me away, because it really is a sick film.. Basically a black comedy about Bubby (played brillantly by Nick Hope) who is abused and interfered with by his mother. She forces him to stay inside one room for 35 years of his life. And lies to him about the outside world telling him falsehoods such as the air is unbreathable out there. One day a change comes in the form of Bubby's father returning.. His whole world is turned upside down and for the first time Bubby ventures out.. He begins an adventure into society with only a limited grasp of language and meets some very interesting people indeed. If you are not easily disgusted, and have an open mind check out Bubby's adventures..

Disturbing but also very funny and memorable.
