Review of Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of (2015) by Courtney S — 07 Feb 2015
Okay, so I used to be a pretty big fan of the Backstreet Boys. I still am, but I'm not obsessed with them like I used to be, haha. After watching their documentary, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.
I hate saying that, but it's the truth. It had it's good parts, but definitely wasn't 5 star worthy. With it only being a little over an hour and a half long, they just didn't have enough raw footage of them.
I feel like they took a week to film everything and just made it into a movie to make money. You want to see a documentary worth your time, watch Metallica's: Some Kind of Monster. There was a lot of footage of past performances that was fun to watch and they each went to their hometowns and reminisced, which I enjoyed.
I'd say the highlight of the movie was probably Brian and Nick getting into a pretty big argument. I did learn a few things about them that I didn't know, so that was interesting. Overall, I just felt like it was thrown together too quickly.
Maybe they should start recording footage now so that they'll have a good amount to make into another documentary in 20 years. They definitely could have spent more time on it.
