Review of Backdraft (1991) by Jacob D — 26 Dec 2009
At first you think it's just a movie about firefighters, and then it turns on you with plot and character suspense, mystery, graphic action, drama, great acting (except for a struggling William Baldwin), and a rather climactic ending.
While boring in some parts, Kurt Russell delivered powerfully in a movie that takes firefighting to a whole new place. Donald Sutherland also deserves an Oscar for his 15 minutes of well-performed psychotic acting.
