Only because its based on a true story the movie's events seem interesting. The predatory bear really calls the shots at the end of the movie. But one can really pass on this movie if they want some real scares and thrill of adventure trips going haywire.
Watch Eden Lake, for fictitious but very original plot line. Backcountry seems inspired by true events but is similar to Eden Lake, except there's a real lake in Eden Lake and no bear. Instead there's a bunch of something more cunning.
