Review of Backcountry (2015) by Rose N — 02 Dec 2015
One of the truest horror films I've seen, 'Backcountry' doesn't rely on analogy, or the supernatural, but presents an extremely plausible reality, surpassing even the scariest of films.
With strong direction and a brilliant atmosphere, 'Backcountry' manages to overcome the predictable with it's brutal final act and a career performance from Missy Peregrym. Though I find it despicable 99.
9% of the time, MacDonald employs good use of "shaking cam", using it exclusively in representing it's sole purpose, disorientation.
