Backcountry had its moments, but it also had some issues. The 'based on a true story' designation, is kind of disengenuous as the actual people and facts in the real events look nothing like what transpired other then that there was a bear attack.
Some of the plotline set ups were pretty contrived, although I did like the idea that a bloody sock hanging up to dry, ultimately attracks our rogue killer bear, and that our victims are really products of their own foolish choices.
Best scene, involved the acting and encounter with Eric Balflour. So, its an okay late at night on Netflix watch, but, if you want to watch an AWESOME scary indie based on a true story thriller..rent OPEN WATERS.
