Review of Backcountry (2015) by Viktor N — 12 Feb 2017
I'm a big fan of the "lost in the woods and hunted by something" genre. Somehow, I had never heard of or seen "Backcountry". It's a small film that was obviously produced on a modest budget, but the story, acting, production design and editing were all surprisingly good considering the resources that went into the film.
All things considered, it's definitely worth the 90 minutes or so. In an age of over-the-top, bloated, big-budget Hollywood action spectacles where CGI trumps story and script, this little gem was a breath of fresh air.
