Review of Back to the Future Part III (1990) by Robert H — 25 Jun 2012
Slower than either of the first two films? Perhaps. It's much different in tone than the other films as well. As the others were more sci-fi 'heavy' films, this one takes a step into the range of Clint Eastwood westerns.
It has a heart and shows Doc's emotional and romantic abilities we didn't think he was capable of. It caps the story off nicely but it would've been nice to see them switch up time periods to keep it fresh.
It gets to a point midway where I got tired of the setting, and felt the momentum built from the second film wear down as the speed dropped far below 88 miles per hour. It's the dullest in the series of great time travel pieces, but it ended it without pushing its actors beyond their limits or taking very many risks.
