Review of Back to the Future Part II (1989) by Henry P — 22 Aug 2014
Welcome back to the future! This sequel is almost as good as the first one, except that it gets more confusing than Part 1 did. We've got the same great characters in Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and various past-present-future-alternate reality selves of these and others.
This one moves faster due to the shorter run time, but as I mentioned before gets more confusing, by which I mean a convuluted series of mishaps caused by one stupid action. The effects are great for 1980s standards, with we the viewers seeing the actual future (October 21, 2015 is almost here people) finally and the flying car throughout.
Alan Silvestri provides a great recycling of Part 1's score, and a little originals I didn't quite catch (Sorry Alan Silvestri). This one is just as funny, but it feels a little recycled like the soundtrack.
A lot like the first film, so it feels like "Back to Back to the Future.".
