Review of Back to the Future Part II (1989) by Bill M — 05 Feb 2012
The single most underrated sequal ever, back to the future part 2 is a mindbendingly ingenious and truly brilliant sequal, it's also really weird experimental and hugely, dizzyingly inventive. Flitting from a satirical, cartoonishly realised 2015, which looks like the future if the 80's never went away, a suprisingly dark, grim alternate 1985 were biff is an evil tycoon who rules all of hill valley and most brilliantly of all back to the events of the first film from diffrent angles, with doc and marty having to avoid themselves from part one so that the events leading to part 2 play out and a mayjor paradox is diverted! bttf 2 is darker and more cynical but easily and without reservation as good as the first film in so many ways.
Joyous entertainment.
