Review of Back to the Future Part II (1989) by Matthew D — 21 Jan 2013
"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads!" Movie Matt here with Back To The Future Part 2, the second part of my BTTF review. The reason I didn't go into detail on the first film is because in the last bridge, the first film gets revisited.
Let's recap: After his previous adventure, Marty is whisked away by Doc into the future (2015 to be precise) to alter an event that could harm his family. However, he comes into contact with an almanac & believing that he'll grow into a loser like his father, he buys it but Doc throws out but his arch rival Biff Tannen comes into contact with it, steals the time machine & gives the book to himself in 1955, which is where they overlap.
BTTF Episode 2 was a huge hit at the time but was criticized for being slightly darker than the first episode & thematically it is. Regardless, take it for what it's worth. I liked it (along with the first episode).
Stay tuned for BTTF Episode 3!
