Review of Back to the Future (1985) by Zachary C — 08 Jun 2014

This is easily in my top five favorite movies of all time. Honestly, everything in this movie works, the cast, the soundtrack, the humor, the plot, and especially the time travel.

I love this movie because it's adventurous and clever, yet it's also downright hilarious. Christopher Lloyd is cast perfectly as the scientist who creates time travel. He is easily the funniest of the entire cast, because he's so hilariously over the top! Besides that, who would create a time machine out of a DeLorean? And then the whole plotline where Marty's mother falls for her son is the most brilliant move I've ever seen in a movie to date.

Beyond the comedy, the rest of the film is a genius work of art. It handles the paradoxes created by time travel way better than other classic time travel movies of the era, such as The Terminator. (Until 12 Monkeys came along, that is).

Some moments in here are the most iconic ever filmed. I didn't even know what a DeLorean was until I saw the movie! Easily one of my favorite movies of all time just because it still makes me laugh after multiple viewings!
