4.0/5.0 stars - Plot & Story.

This movie is so very well written. Very little happens in this movie that in some small part isn't referenced later in the film. Even the death of a single little pine tree in 1955 impacts the name of a mall in 1985.

The movie starts on October 25, 1985 and follows Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) through a somewhat normal day. Early the next morning though, he takes an unexpected trip back to November 5, 1955.

4.0/5.0 stars - Acting.

Despite the somewhat cheesy nature of the script and story, there is some amazing acting in this movie. Crispin Glover (George McFly) plays a character who undergoes a profound transformation and he is able to play both sides of that character very well. Chistopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) is the only actor who could have played the completely insane genius inventor with that much enthusiasm.

2.0/5.0 stars - Drama/Suspense.

It's more of a light hearted action movie than a drama. There are a few parts of the movie, though, that try to create a little suspense.

3.5/5.0 stars - Special Effects.

Keeping in mind that this movie was created in 1985, there are some amazing special effects in it. Cars disappearing into thin air, leaving only flaming tread marks in their place; people disappearing; oh, and a Delorean time machine.

3.0/5.0 stars - Comedy.

There are a few parts of this movie that make you laugh out loud. It's more of an awkward, quirky humour than anything else, but since I myself am a little awkward and quirky, it works well.

3.0/5.0 stars - That little something extra.

I love movies that are able to tie together pieces of itself all through the movie. This movie certainly does that, showing all the little connections between 30 years of change in a small town.

3.0/5.0 stars - Overall.

A great movie to watch just for fun. It is enjoyable if you're watching for all the changes, or if you're just watching for the hell of it. Highly recommend the entire trilogy, they're just plain fun movies.
