Back to the Future is the quintessential adventure film of the 1980s. Its retro styling would normally have kept this film stuck in that decade; however, its timelessness is founded in its heart. The plot plays out on both over-the-top and grounded levels by constantly placing Marty McFly in situations in which the audience is compelled to ask themselves, "What would I do if this happened to me?" Back to the Future is the most fun, silly and compassionate exploration of time-travel seen in a film to date.
