Review of Back to the Future (1985) by Elisabeth K — 02 Jan 2016
Time travelling, a complex thought full of paradoxes and confusion, have helped to stab holes to many movies' plotlines before. Back to the Future is definetely not one of them. This is a surreally perfect adventure movie, capturing the reality of every 80's kids' present yet adding something fantastic to the past, and future for every age and many a generation to enjoy.
What I truly love about this movie is that Marty is not alone in this. The parents and others he interacts with adapt with times accordingly and naturally change in ways throughout the timeline. If he were completely alone being in the change it could have been a very lonely and hopeless Marty thrown through time.
But no matter if it were the past, present or future, he always has the excentric Doc in every timeline with him to go through it all. This movie is relatively simple, cohesive and most importantly - fun.
The vivid colours, lighthearted action, fitting music and sympathetic characters to root for make this for a very safe and endeering movie in any company. This movie makes time travel believable. Who wouldn't want to hit 88 miles per hour in a Delorean after this?
