Review of Back to the Future (1985) by Karia Q — 29 Jan 2013
Back to the Future is a perfect Hollywood film. It's an umbrella film in which the action-adventure, sci-fi, and comedy genres fit neatly underneath while still being fun. There are no lulls in the action which makes for a very exciting ride back and forth through time.
The sweet nostalgia of the '50s remains intact, and now that 30 years have passed since part I's release, a new dimension of nostalgia has emerged. The creativity on display here not only encompasses the plot, but extends itself to the score and special effects (which hold up surprisingly well).
I was surprised to find myself pretty literally on the edge of my seat during several points of the movie, despite knowing exactly what was going to happen. This is an obvious must-see for pretty much anyone, unless you are terrible.
