Review of Back to the Beach (1987) by Larry L — 11 Aug 2008
It is hard to give a movie such as this much of a high rating, as it does not take itself too seriously, and aspires to only an updated take on the early 60's 'beach' movies that Frankie and Annette were famous for.
That being said, this was Annette Funicello's last movie, as she developed MS and showed signs of it during production. The spirit is nice and light, and overall - FUN!
Then for us music fans, seeing Fishbone as the beach ska band, AND the treat of seeing both Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughan tear up "Pipeline" is worth the cost of the DVD itself!
