Review of Back to School (1986) by Jason T — 07 May 2009
The only reason I rate this so highly is that I think it was made ironically. Rodney Dangerfield bribes everybody to make things go his way with little consequence. It could be a bad example of a detestable age, but it might also be a dry, ironic lampooning of the decadence of the 80's.
I might be wrong, but considering the counter-cultural icons in the movie like Kurt Vonnegut, Sam Kinison and Oingo Boingo I do wonder if the intentions really reflected the decadence of the period or actually parodied it.
