Review of Bachelor Party (1984) by Robert B — 29 Aug 2010

I like Tom Hanks in anything he does, and this movie is no exception. His role as a lovable screw-up is fun to watch, and this movie surely earns its place as a classic raunchy comedy. The movie has a feel similar to Animal House in how loose all the material seems to be.

There is definitely an ad-libbed feel to it. There is a lot to laugh at here, and it's about an raunchy as you might expect, although relatively tame by today's rather cynical standards. I was actually surprised that there was only one scene featuring female nudity, and that was just a hallucination.

But there is a woman dancing with a donkey, which is always fun. While a bit dated, the comedy holds up for the most part.
