Review of Bachelor Party (1984) by Christian V — 04 May 2012
Back in the day, Tom Hanks actually use to be funny. And this juvenile outing is a fine example. Granted, much of the humor is of the childish crude and vulgar variety, but there are many, many uproarious moments.
From the strip club, to the constant berating and befuddling of the 'villainous' Cole Whittier, to the finale involving a showdown within a theatre running a 3-D film, I find myself chuckling with delight at the sophomoric and moronic lines and visual comedy.
Alright, it's not "Some Like It Hot", but if you were expecting something along those lines, then I'd say you need to expand your movie experiences. And once you do you may find something which you enjoy, despite what critics may say.
Of course, I would like to say that "once you see it, you can't unsee it". So, don't say you weren't warned.
