Review of Bachelor Party (1984) by Vuk O — 01 Dec 2012
The fact is, Bacherlor Party is one of the most re-watchable comedies ever made and it perfectly presents the spirit of the eighties. Tom Hanks rules in one of his first starring roles, as the slacker/nice guy Rick, Tawny Kitaen is yummy and an icon of that era, Robert Prescott is awesome as the asshole rich dude villain, Bradford Bancroft is brilliant as the tweaked out suicider, plus you have Michael Dudikoff before he became a ninja, and there Adrian Zmed as well --- actually, the whole cast is superb.
Simple, crude, vulgar but also idealistic, Bachelor Party showcases a period in human history when parties were epic, prostitutes were happy disease-free hookers , one male butt was enough to make you laugh at a movie, rich assholes were rich assholes, and you could smuggle a donkey into a hotel room if you were dedicated enough.
Bachelor Party remains unmatched as the ultimate party comedy.
