It does seem that the rumours that the budget running out & Fox re-editing the movie weren't just rumours.
As a piece science fiction it is entertaining for at least two thirds, but then the last act is just woefull.
It does seem like the aftermath of an artistic apocalpse. It looks good, reasonable effects with a future look that seems borrowed from Children of Men mixed in with a bit of The Fith Element thrown in.
Oh plus Melanie Thierry certainly livened up the proceedings.
