Review of Babylon A.D. (2008) by Pekka I — 15 Sep 2009
I've recently come to the conclusion that I watch a lot of crappy movies, ignoring other reviews and critical comments, hoping against all odds that the latest science fiction, or action, or comedy film will have simply been misunderstood. Like "Anchorman," when it was first released. Or "Dark City.".
Unfortunately, "Babylon A.D." is a film deserving of every negative comment it has ever engendered. It's a film without much plot, without any real emotion, that asks us to care about mystery after mystery, secret after secret, even though we're not sure what the hell is happening, and why these secrets matter to this futuristic world we've entered. It's inane, and not in a fun way.
