Review of Babylon A.D. (2008) by Mark B — 17 Jun 2011
A desperately troubled production takes an obvious toll on this actually pretty ok science fiction actioner, whilst it lacks a strong sense of cohesiveness, or catharsis for that matter, largely due to its abrupt ending (almost certainly caused exclusively by the production trouble) this contains a wonderfully large scope and ingenuity in its action to set it head and shoulders above the vapid machismo movies of other muscle stars.
More like the sci-fi movies of the 90's this is a dark and visually eclectic dystopia that scores high marks for originality.
