Review of Babylon A.D. (2008) by Connor F — 16 Jun 2013
It's basically a campy version of children of men with mindless action, painful script and unfortunately, Vin Diesel. The director tries to be moderately ambitious with the plot, but nearly every other secondary characteristic makes this attempt blow up in his face, as all we seem to get out of the result is a sub par B-movie.
There are way too many conflicting themes, nothing is explained and many parts come off as just cheesy rather than emotional. It's a miracle they barely stretched the movie out to a reasonable time length considering how many scenes just felt so unnecessary.
Babylon A.D. doesn't quite deserve to be branded as garbage, but it came close to that point at occasional intervals throughout the film.
