Review of Baby Geniuses (1999) by Man With N — 16 Apr 2013
Story? Who cares. Character development? That's for show-offs. Funny dialogue? Too hard to write. These babies can talk!! Bad films are easy to make, but a film as unpleasant as Baby Geniuses' achieves a kind of grandeur. A thoroughly misguided, unfunny film that proves you shouldn't beat a dead horse. There are ticklish moments, but no real laughs. Parents will be terrified by the scene that sets Sly loose on the city streets (courtesy of cheap CGI effects), and probably won't much cotton to the generally distasteful theme of children being held against their will. Turner chews up the scenery in a Cruella DeVil mode that does neither her or the movie much good. The hokey dialogue and witless physical gags keep everything painful and hectoring. One way to get through Baby Geniuses is to think about whether it really is the worst movie you've ever seen. Probably not, but pretty darn close.
VERDICT: "Hit The Exits" - [Panned Reaction] These are some of the worst films ever made. These films do everything wrong and do it worse than bad. Audiences should never see this film under any circumstances! (Films that are rated 0.5 or 1 stars).
