Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Miranda Z — 02 Jan 2018
Everything about this movie is fun, with a retro aesthetic that is reminiscent of my beloved comic adaptations and clever humour that differentiates it from typical Hollywood thrill-rides. The soundtrack is loud, commanding and honestly just such a brilliant grounds for this movie's premise.
Pacing near the end at first seems rushed because it plays to the fanciful 'too-good-to-be-true' hopes of the audience, as does the second vintage 'vision' Baby has. Ultimately, they serve to lead up to what I see as a pretty damn perfect ending,.
