Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Movie F — 04 Mar 2018

Prior to watching The Oscars and seeing the nominations for sound mixing and editing, I decided to watch Baby Driver and it was not a mistake. With incredible music and exciting action sequences, this movie will definitely land on my top 10 or at least 15.

Ansel Elgort's performance as Baby is funny, deep, and emotional and it's so fun to watch. The addition of Jon Hamm, Jamie Fox, and Lily James only make the film more intriguing due to their great performances.

The film's use of sound and music is so unique and exemplary (although it does not make the overlong scenes of Baby strolling around and dancing more entertaining) -- the music definitely helps shape the mood of the film.

Although the action sequences are thrilling and beautifully choreographed, there are a few overlong scenes that are either discussions between characters or scenes of Baby listening to music while just sitting in a car.

But in the end, Baby Driver is a crazy ride with beautiful fight scenes and a compelling, emotional love story. - 90%.
