Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Nihilistic — 13 Jul 2017
Baby Driver is one of the most entertaining films I've seen, which is why it has become one of my favourites. Yes, the film could be improved, but it doesn't really have any mistakes either. Even though I usually focus on the story, and the themes explored throughout the story, the enjoyment I gained from watching this film was already enough to give it 4 stars for me.
This is a story that follows a good-hearted young man called "Baby" who lives with a good-hearted old man. Baby is unwillingly in the crime business because of how good-hearted he is, he had to pay off a debt.
Throughout the film, you see his own kindness make him friends and enemies. I did feel that the romance in the film was just slightly unconventional, but it wasn't too bad. This probably does moral righteousness better than any indie "christian values" movie I've seen.
