Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Moviemew _ — 17 Aug 2017
Wright's cinematography is indescribably excellent in this movie. The authentic car stunts and perfectly fine-tuned soundtracks are just two elements that make this movie transcend in its genre; Wright knows like no other how to intertwine film and music, to a point of sophistication that really is unprecedented.
Not only that, but the character portrayal and development are very well thought-out; the main protagonist, Baby, stands out from many other movie protagonists, with his passion for driving and music, the grace and virtue that radiates from his job executions and how he handles his hearing ailment - and if all of his quirks weren't enough, he's even able to be an intriguing romantic on top of all that.
From Ansel Elgort and Lily James in their protagonistic role to Kevin Spacey in his semi-antagonistic role, the casting and acting for and in this movie couldn't have been more spot on. "Baby Driver" probably exhibits the best filmography I've seen in years, and truly is a legendary work of art.
