Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Darryl L — 21 Jul 2017

This movie is an apple jelly donut without the filling. Fast cars, fast editing and hot music. But it falls apart in the middle of the movie and asks the movie goer to believe a ridiculous ending.

I loved the performances of Jon Hamm and Jamie Foxx, as well as as Elza Gonzales.

Kevin Spacey is one of my favorite actors, but I think he was over acting in this one. He seemed like he was doing the head guy in "Reservoir Dogs" and little Alec Baldwin from "Glengarry Glenross.

And Edgar Wright's screenplay had hints of Tarantino with its fast chit chats and cool lines. But the ending seemed like one of the suits at Sony said "We got to have an all-.

American Apple Pie ending.

That was a wrong call.

I would say "Baby Driver" started fast, but ran out of gas.
