Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Zack D — 17 Jul 2017
Edgar Wright is back in town with a new all out fun, stylish and thrilling flick that comes off more as attributing classic crime getaway films full of fast cars, killer tunes and snappy editing (the latter being most signature to Wright).
Despite it's old school feel, it's technology proves it's a 21st Century set drama in the middle of L.A., I also feel this crashes the gates of 2011's 'Drive' which despite my admiration, I'm not a genuine fan of, as this film shows you can have some solid drama up close and personal without slowing down, or being too off putting on the violence spectrum.
This is film that's due to win over any type of audience members both young and old alike, possibly Edgar Wright's best stand alone feature of today as I feel this film isn't steering of any of the tracks it's so detrimentally focused on driving on, I was thrilled from start to finish, enjoying every bit of action, semi-musical beats and rhythms and the gifted performers giving it all they got for such a unique production.
Highly recommended as possibly one of 2017's best.
