Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Brian B — 15 Jul 2017

The plot is contrived and lacks imagination. The characters are one dimensional and boring. And the cliches pile up one on top of another to make the film collapse under the Wright of its own stupidity. 12 years olds will love the movie because it's easy to digest and they haven't seen it done better in other movies.

All this being said I should mention that the cinematography is great and the set design and overall aesthetic is fun. The action sequences are well done and scored to every beat but I'm left wondering what's the point of all this style is if the story isn't good.

This movie is a clunker.
