Review of Baby Driver (2017) by Anonymous User — 25 Jul 2018
A film that has gotten a lot of hype. I believed it. It's not the most original story, but many neat tricks makes it very fresh.
Some kid, named "Baby", is working as a getaway driver for some shady fellas. They do the dirty work, he drives. He drives real good. He get's into a girl pretty deeply, but then he get's even deeper into the bad stuff. More shooting, less driving, to put it easy.
It looks cool, it's got words written on walls that go with the story at times, it got a lot of heart and great character building. We found out stuff about our man scattered out the first hour, he's got a deph foster parent and he have some hearing issues. That's why he's always seen with music plugs in his ears. The music is very important here, he's got plenty of songs, and playing devices for that matter, and he puts on songs to create the perfect moments. He knows how to play the songs at the right times. We hear them too, some very cool songs. "Boards Of Canada" are here and plenty of soul classics.
Great acting, great action and plenty of fun. The big action scenes near the end gets a bit huge and that weakens the film a bit for me. A great film for strickly entertainment as it's lovely written, got several nice details and it surely packs a punch of thrills and action.
8 out of 10 mp3-players.
