Review of Babette's Feast (1987) by Susan C — 12 Sep 2008

This is one of my all time favorite movies and have seen it countless times. I originally saw it in the theatres back when you had to hunt down the art houses. It's slow - it's set in Denmark. It's not meant to be a hollywood blockbuster.

If you have the patience to sit at someone's side and hear a wonderful story told - then you will appreciate this for its poignant story-telling mark. Few know that this was the 1st foodie movie..

.it set the path for the many that would later come.
