Review of Babel (2006) by True Dirt F — 08 Apr 2010
This is without a doubt one of the best movies I have ever seen. There is not much I can criticize this movie for. The cast and their acting is amazing. This movie has very good messages. The story is very unique and interesting, it ties together 4 different groups of people from around world through one central conflict.
Aside from the central conflict every group has their own unique conflicts, traits and experiences making the film very entertaining for anyone. The characters in Babel evoke lots of emotions from me and got me to truly connect and care about their situations.
This film has an international theme and atmosphere, therefore it is fit for any audience in any part of the world to see and relate to. The cinematography is excellent and the music is superb as it gives the film more of an impact, as if it didn't have one already.
Rarely does a film tackle so many issues, convey so many messages and tell so many stories that all intertwine beautifully. Babel is one of those rare films. It is a shame people do not rate it as high as I do.
I think it deserves to be on the IMDB Top 250 list. It puzzles me how shaun of the dead and toy story 2 is on that list, yet babel is not. Whatever, the point is you should see it, its simply a marvelous film.
