Review of Babel (2006) by George P — 07 Feb 2012
Darren Aronofski I'm gonna show you how to make a depressing movie. One that makes The Wrestler look like Happy Gilmore, Black Swan like the powerpuff girls. This movie is going to depress you on five continents, Brad Pitt will go grey with suffering, the ever simpering Kate Blanchette will spend the entire film cocconed in unimanginable agony.
I Alejandro González Iñárritu will wipe the floor with you and your depressing antics in a truly autheintic and multi cultural manner. Deaf girls with dead parents, illegal immegrants from Mexico, cot death and young Moroccans getting shot by police.
I am going to squeeze more pain and suffering into a movie than anyone thought possible. All beautifully shot and realistically done with lots of nice touches to make you feel truly bad that you ever were happy.
Requiem for a dream Ha! a mere Harold and Kumar compared to this magnificent gallstone of a film.
